Drink plenty of fluids and rest...
sound advice... but... there is a drawback to such advise, you see the more fluids you drink the more frequent the bathroom trips...so much for uninterrupted rest...I fear bed sores from all this lying around...and please tell me what daytime television is all about? really...Honey Boo Boo... it leaves my dry mouth hanging wide open...all I can say is thank goodness for PBS...so... I have just stumbled upon a Diane Keaton movie...I love Diane Keaton...she always wears the prettiest clothes and is so put together...I love her quirky personality... oh ...sorry...you can see my chap stick residue on my glass of SPLASH...lately my fluid of choice...
my little Valentine rug...
and a gift...Buddy...my daytime reading...at night I fall asleep reading stories of Stillmeadow, the books of author Gladys Taber...
Please...tell me who does not love the Beekman Boys, Josh and Brent? and tales of their goat farm... I have so enjoyed reading through this cookbook , with it's many luscious photographs, it makes me want to become a better cook...I can hear Mr. Dog Trot laughing...someday I vow to get myself to Sharon Springs...
Finally...a written warning to my husband... never leave your sick wife home alone with the latest Pottery Barn catalog...dangerous...very dangerous...you've been warned!!!...
Feel better. Do you get the magazine FOLK. It had an article in about the Beekman boys. I was so glad that they won the Amazing Race.
ReplyDeleteHi there, I'm sorry you've been down and out. I'm not sure I know what Splash is but it looks refreshing. I too love Diane Keaton-any of her movies. I think I would try to rent Downton Abbey if I were laid up. The cookbook looks really good.
ReplyDeleteHope you are back to yourself soon.

Yet your sense of humor is still in tact - you can't be THAT sick then! LOL Get better soon!

Julie, a little couch potato time never hurt anybody. I'm with you on the daytime TV. Netflix is a good option. Or your idea of shopping isn't bad either. Keep resting and get rid of that bug.
ReplyDeleteJulie, hopefully soon you will be up and doing! I love the Still Meadow books, that should cure you if nothing else does. looking toward better days for you...,,,!
ReplyDeleteYou may be sick but you haven't lost your sense of humour.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a speedy recovery.
Hugs,
JB
The flu is a stinker this year. everyone who has had it says it lasts for at least 5 days. Get better soon!
ReplyDeleteI have never watched Honey Boo Boo and never will, but I am sure it from the South which is were I live. I live in Mississippi and I am proud of who I am and where I come from but there are always people that want to show our area as the most ignorant people on the planet! I really hope that you are feeling better by the time this e-mail gets to you. I so enjoy reading your post everyday!
ReplyDeleteHope you are starting to feel better, I'm sure that a package arriving from Pottery Barn would help your recovery:) Has Winslow Homer been helping to look after you?
ReplyDeleteYour cold is hanging on and just doesn't want to leave, poor you! Love the warning to your husband!! Feel better soon! Christina
ReplyDeleteJulie! I just finished reading Buddy! Laughed till I cried!! But I have to tell you I wanted to smack those two young girls every now and then! I don't know what I woulda done without my chapstick when I had the plague!
ReplyDeleteMorning Julie, love that sweet little kleenex box, we never get cute things as that her.......Love her to, one of my favorite movies is Baby Boom, so good......Adore your hooked heart, still trying my hand at hooking, bought a hoop to try.......Keep Warm And Cozy, Francine.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon! I know exactly what you mean about those Pottery Barn catalogs.
ReplyDeleteI think I would have to be really, really sick to watch daytime T.V. :)
ReplyDeleteI just shake my head and wonder how people have time for some of that garbage.
I love your books though. Part of my family had the flu that you have now. I have managed to not get it.
"knocking on wood." I know the bunch that did get sick were really very sick and just sleeping was what helped.
I hope you find something lovely to watch. Have you tried Downton Abbey? You can get the first season off of Netflix maybe even the second now. It might be streaming. The 3 season is on PBS.
If you like that stuff.
Well keep resting. I love your little rug. Did you know when I started reading blogs you were the first rug hooker I ever saw and I was so amazed and wanted to be just like you. :) So glad you are back.
Julie,
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon....it is certainly going around. Do enjoy Downton Abbey (you can also get it or request it from the library) as well as Call the Midwife....both very good. I just finished up Season 3 of Downton....had to buy it...couldn't wait. Stay warm (down to 1 degree here) and feel better!
