just read all of your comments on pearl...about the feather eating...you might have to get those 'saddles' for your hens. there are some great books to get which might answer some of your questions. i love chickens but do not have any...but i bought some books just in case! :) also, check out chickens in the road blog (mean rooster doesn't pull his hens feathers but you could ask suzanne for advice).
