snow...Snow...SNOW

snow...Snow...SNOW...it's a snowy day here in Maine...winter weather arrived early this morning...schools and businesses closed... a good day to spend some time in the kitchen...homemade bread...warm chocolate chip cookies... comfort food...macaroni and cheese... a big old pot of hot chocolate...a comfy chair by the wood stove...a favorite book...
The animals here at Dog Trot Farm are snuggled in too. Emma Lou tucked nicely in her little bed against the old brick chimney...a red bulb hangs in the coop...chickens delight in a treat of warm pasta...Winslow Homer prefers to romp and play while patiently waiting for his mommy to find her snowshoes...Mommy prefers a nap...winter...like it or not it's presence has arrived....

  1. We got snow, too. More than enough to make up for having none. Hope you had a nice and snuggly day!

  2. Adorable pic of Homer Winslow! I think dogs enjoy playing in the snow as much, if not more than children!
Stay warm! I think our blast of frigid air is due this weekend.

  3. We did much the same here, I'm glad winter finally arrived. I like the slowness of it but I'm not sure how I'll feel about it come March!

  4. That snowy face is so adorable. The white winter weather started here at supper time but is supposed to turn to rain over night. It would be lovely to wake up in the morning and find it gone!

  17. Lucky you. We have slush. Ice. Fog. And one annoyed bunny who hasn't had any snow to tunnel in.

  19. What a cute little picture!! Homer would just love our little Hickory. Sadly, no snow here in PA....brutal cold, but no snow. I would like one lovely storm that lasts just a few days, but keeps us snowed in at home!!

  21. You've described the perfect snow day, inside with goodies and warmth. It's obvious that Winslow Homer doesn't agree. So cute I just can't stand it! Have a wonderful day.
