Sunday Rain

Saturday we saw the sun. Our neighborhood was abuzz with the sound of lawnmowers, everyone frantically getting outside chores accomplished before the return of the rain. This morning the rain did indeed return, as is apparent in these garden photos. The perennial bed is lush and filling in nicely however, the snails and slugs are enjoying quite a feast. I have read putting saucers of beer in the garden will draw them away from the plants. I suppose they become intoxicated and drown, if the rain continues I'll have to give this a try.Look at this sweet face, meet Edythe LaRue. She has resided with us for a week, her personality is blooming. She definitely is an Edythe, a strong willed kitty, but very loving. Winslow is not sure about Edythe, since she still spends most of her time upstairs; Winslow does not climb stairs. Emma spends her time residing on the back of the couch, minding her own business. The "chooks" are going to need raincoats and galoshes if this rain continues, Eve send us some of your Alabama sunshine!

Julie you truely are a wonderful gardener. I am no longer happy with my gardens because they are drying up and sad looking. Who would've thought!!! How beautifully lush.
Well hello Edyth LaRue. I'm glad I won the name debate but not not so much that it was her strong personality that got her the name!!! I can see her Kneeding her paws in happy content. What a doll. I hope she continues to behave...well...did the scratch pads do the job??? Naughty Edyth!

Edythe LaRue looks pretty darned content so good for her! My Phineas loves to lay on my clothes too if I leave them on the bed. Edythe must like your scent.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments on my gardens and Edythe LaRue. Sharon, Edythe joined me while I was ironing ( clothes on the bed) what else can one do when it's raining, but iron and cook. I whipped up banana bread, blueberry muffins and Toll House Marble Squares. My husband was pleased!

When I was responding to your comment I accidentally typed "Dog Rot Farm". I started to laugh because it seemed so appropriate with your wet weather.

What beautiful beds you have with all the rain. lush is right. I am not able to use that word very often here.

Your flowers are magnificent! And Edyth is obviously aware that she has fallen into good luck. A beautiful face, for sure.
