~PINTEREST INSPIRATION~

Pinterest...the online visual tool where one can browse, discover and bookmark creative ideas from a worldwide catalog...I find Pinterest a wonderful distraction from the real world (Clinton/ Trump)...it's a place where your mind can freely roam... in any direction...a happy place...locating interests unique to you...so... with a little help from the mister (okay...a lot of help from the mister)... two of my pinned projects have come to fruition...first up...a primitive fireplace insert, constructed for our little electric wood stove...the insert itself is not completely finished it still needs to be "scruffed"  up... given a couple coats of  wax and square nails to hang "things" Christmas stockings, herbs, gourds, etc... I am so pleased with the way it turned out... it's  just as I had hoped...
Second...a potting closet...Mr. Dogtrot built this for me while I was at the island this summer...it fits perfectly between two windows on the north side (back) of the house...it is home to chicken supplies, garden tools, Mantis tiller, wheelbarrow and other odds and ends...would you like to know what  the best part is?... I don't have to share...it's all MINE...no toys, no man tools...
Come Tuesday, please don't forget to vote!!!

~Happy Halloween~

Happy Halloween...
May Jack-o-lanterns burning bright
of soft and golden hue
pierce through the futures veil
and show
what fate now holds for you...

~WELL, HELLO~

Autumn in New England...
If you have never visited New England... Autumn is a delightful season to do so...Mother Nature puts on such a lovely show...all dressed in her finest...
leaves turn to brilliant colors of red, orange, yellow and gold...the air cool and crisp...farm stands offer crunchy apples, pumpkins in various shades of orange...cornstalks, decorative corn and sweet apple cider...of course I would be remiss if I did not mention the homemade pumpkin and apple spice donuts...a sweet indulgence after a morning of apple picking...
Travis Lloyd is now four... goes to preschool three mornings a week...and plays soccer...
Paige Elizabeth...our ginger haired girl... turned one last month...Paige loves her baby doll and playing in the dirt with her brother...
Alas, I have much catching up to do with everyone in this world of blogging.. These past seven months have been spent caring for my beloved father at my parent's island home...this is where he wanted to live out the remainder of his life with the people he loved most...Sadly, on September 16th, Lloyd Elliott Jones lost his battle with multiple myeloma...
Life continues on...one step at a time...
I am back home...back to my husband...a cat named Hazel and two chickens, Cinny and Doris...oh and new stories to share...

~HAPPY NEW YEAR~
FROM ME TO YOU...MAY YOU BE BLESSED WITH HEALTH AND HAPPINESS WHILE SURROUNDED BY THOSE YOU LOVE~

~RING OUT THE OLD,
RING IN THE NEW,
RING HAPPY BELLS,
ACROSS THE SNOW!
THE YEAR IS GOING
LET HIM GO,
RING OUT THE FALSE,
RING IN THE TRUE.~
Alfred Lord Tennyson

~WE WILL OPEN THE BOOK. IT'S PAGES ARE BLANK.
WE ARE GOING TO PUT WORDS ON THEM OURSELVES.
THE BOOK IS CALLED OPPORTUNITY AND IT'S FIRST CHAPTER IS NEW YEAR'S.~
Edith Lovejoy Pierce

Once again it is time to take stock of our lives, reflect on the past and ponder goals for the future. We purge our homes attempting to put our house in order, January is the month for a "fresh start" a new beginning...

"ONE RESOLUTION I HAVE MADE, AND TRY TO KEEP, IS THIS:
TO RISE ABOVE THE LITTLE THINGS"
~John Burroughs~
