HAPPY NEW YEAR

~GOOD TIDINGS TO ALL~ Greetings from snowy Southern Maine. DH and I ventured out this morning to take a few photos, this is the majestic Portland Headlight located in Cape Elizabeth Maine. Here on the East Coast we have been receiving snow with the heaviest predictions for Saturday night into Monday morning. The local weather stations are reporting snow accumulations that will be measured in feet, not inches. Alas, the frig is full, vehicles gassed, water on supply, generator prepped and something new to Dog Trot Farm: a snow blower! I now need not worry about "reaching" my "girls" if indeed all that snow should show up. The "girls" egg production has not diminished and each hen is producing a daily egg. They however, are not thrilled with all this cold wet white stuff, but coming from proud Yankee stock venture out regardless of weather conditions! From our home to yours, Best Wishes And A Happy New Year.

When I first saw the small pic on my blogger dashboard I thought Portland Head, but no red roofs. When I brought your blog up on my screen, I realized it wasn't red, but snow covered. Snow prediction here is 3-5", and east of Lake Champlain up to a foot or more,... Let it snow!

Wow, you caught a good one Julie! And the snow is even falling. Just perfect!! Can't say I've ever seen that lighthouse before.

Those poor girls aren't going to know what to do with all the snow headed your way. They'll be some glad when Spring finally comes knocking on the coop door!

Oh my, I love LOVE this photo. I have many photos of Portland Headlight in its usual setting - whether clouds or sunny. But not snowy. Awesome, and thank you for sharing it. And especially, be strong and safe in this storm! Hope the hens withstand and provide eggs...
Happy New Year!

That is one beautiful picture takin' shot Julie!

No snow here but whole lot of cold. Low teens for day, single digits at night. I always worry about our outside birds and other little bodies that have no place warm. I wish we could build a beautiful coop like yours and let all the little wild birds hang in it to stay warm. Glad you have a snow blower to get to those "girls"! I see blogging potential with a new snow blower, snow and your "girls" :)

I didn't make it to Maine on my New England trip in the fall, but this will definitely be on my list of things to see next time I'm up that way. What a gorgeous photo. I love the snowy scene with the winter sea in the background.

What a beautiful lighthouse - it looks like a picture postcard all dusted with snow. I'll be it's very cold, too. I'm glad your chickens are doing okay!
