MAINE WINTER WEATHER

Maine the Pine Tree State... This morning we woke to a temperature of 28 degrees. A normal temperature for the State of Maine this time of year. In Northern Alabama where Eve (my cousin) proprietor of the blog Sunny Side Up now resides it was 18 degrees. I can almost bet she was not SUNNY this morning. I think she believed that relocating to Alabama would put the cold, snowy, tundra of upstate New York behind her. Wrong. I checked out another blogging friend in Florida and you guessed it- a degree colder there than here. Flurries in Miami, what in the world is happening with our climate change. Is it caused by global warming? I'm still on the fence on that subject however, my DH says I blame it all on George, George W. Bush that is. He's right, I do.

Could be that is just time for a climate change...been happening for several thusand years now.

We will be in extreme low temps for Arkansas toward the end of the week. This is rare for us.

Enjoy the warmth and rubbing it in your sister's face!

I agree - what is happening to our climate. It is so much colder than normal here in MD. And windy, too. It's the worst winter that I've seen here!

I'm with you 110% on that, I blame "W" too.

I think this must be God's way of saying SHUT UP about the global warming!!! hahahaha! I stand firm that the ice age is on its way and Alabama will be right on the edge of the big white mountain of snow!
I can see you now Julie riding your toboggan all the way from the great state of Maine!!! Chickens in their little hen house strapped behind you!

Yeah,... some people i know are "snowbirding" in FL,.... and doing a lot of whining about the cold. Their RV's furnace is humming away and they are saying "we're paying campground fees for THIS?" Wanna bet that 10,000 years from now our graves will be covered with a glacier? :)

Very sweet pine cone piccy Julie. At the moment over here across the puddle, we are having it colder than Moscow!!! We're not used to below zero temps and lots of snow and ice during daytime very often. Of course, the whole country has virtually come to a standstill! Enjoy it while you can Julie. Dont forget to take your thermals when you visit 'bama in March! (-:

28 degrees sounds tropical to me right now in Michigan! LOL! Right now it's snowing - we're expected to get 3-6 inches.

My southern friends are all wearing much more PolarTec than I am wearing up here in Vermont. The biggest complaints from Florida is that they haven't been able to wear flip flops in 2 weeks, the short haired dogs are shivering all the time and won't go out to pee and there are electrical outages because of the amount of electricity everyone is using (to heat their homes!).
The poor farmers are taking a beating down there with frozen crops and cold livestock.

I just knew you were all kindred spirits (re: Dubyah). LOL!! It's been really cold and the snow we've had so far this already has been unusual here in northern VA. But I have to admit I love it and I really love winter. Maybe I won't have to move north to have my snow after all with the weather changing!
