WINTER DAYS

A winter morning. Slowly, I am getting back into my daily routine. Winslow and I walked through the woods this morning. I am still waiting to hear back from the neurologists in regards to blood tests and meds. Such a long drawn out process- however, I am so grateful to be feeling better and glad that my head did not actually explode! For a while there I thought it just might happen. I have been practicing with the chicken diaper. Winslow Homer, as you can see is a hesitant participant. I think, no I know this is going to be a two person job. When the weather warms and the girls are out in the yard I am going to give it a whirl. Eve where are you when I need you!

At this point in the winter season we all need a little sign of the promise of spring. I purchased these Prim Roses at the grocery store, they are just lovely. I bought them for my mom as they are a favorite of hers.

I love these tiny daffodils. Something as simple as flowers can help us to remain up beat and positive during the cold long winter season. I also purchased Country Garden Magazine. I enjoy a lazy afternoon dreaming of what is to come. Is there anyone out in "cyber space" who is missing the loss of Country Home Magazine? I surely am. I just can't seem to find a proper replacement.
If you have any suggestions please let me know.
Eleven eggs were added to my egg basket this morning, someone is working overtime!
With that being said I made another loaf of cranberry banana bread. The recipe from" Olde Crow Primitives" is addictive and oh so delicious. My waistline, not so good.
Finally, I again want to thank Leslie for the generous blogger award. Leslie I am going to publicly admit I do not know how to link back to someone else's blog. Every attempt I have made I end up messing up my own blog. I am sorry, but there you have it. Maybe when my head finally clears I can figure it out. I will remain positive and not give up. Even an "old dog" can learn a new trick!

Glad you're getting back to routine and enjoyed this fine morning. We also enjoyed ours with a shadow hunt. From the picture you posted can just image all the shadows you crossed in your walk through the woods.

Beautiful spot for a walk. Actually, all of those photos are enchanting on a grey day like today. From the sunshine to the flowers to that delicious looking bread.

Be well ~Andrea~

I am so glad you are feeling better. I have been reading your blog since I got into blogging. I love your photography. I think the one of the lighthouse with the wreath is one of the most beautiful I have ever saw.
Since I am a fellow chicken lover, I love all of your bits about your hens. Yes I miss Country Gardener too. Mary Jane is good but not quite the same. Blessings today.

So glad to hear that your feeling much better Julie. You've inspired me to get some daffs for my Mum when I see her later this week, they're her favourite! My comment on your chook diaper doesn't seem to have come out, so not sure what went wrong there! Hope this ones makes it! (-:

I so miss Country Home, as a replacement they send me Better Homes and Gardens until my subscription runs out, that is one magazine I will not renew again. Glad to hear that you are feeling better.

Beautiful photos, Julie. You let me know any time you want a tutorial in "linking back" - I think I taught Eve way back when..or at least I tried to - LOL. (not that I'm saying she couldn't learn, just that maybe my training wasn't all I thought it was? ha ha)

p.s. I'm really really glad your head didn't explode. ♥ ♥ ♥

I am so happy to hear that you are feeling better. I haven't read Country Gardens but it looks like another magazine I would love. The eggs, bread and flowers are lovely. That's ok about not knowing how to link, it took me a while (and some help from my son) to figure it out. I have enjoyed your pretty post.

What Cedar said! You have a beautiful place to stroll on a winter's day. It's snowing again here in northern VA! I'm so glad you're feeling better.

I also live in Southern Maine (and have connections to upstate NY and Nothern Alabama!)....I really enjoy your blog! Country Home Magazine was one of my favorites too. Have you tried Early American Life? Lots of great homes and antiques in there.
How is your hooked rug coming along?
Glad that you are feeling better. Enjoy all of this wonderful sunshine that we are getting.

How did I miss this post Julie!!
I'm so glad the gardening bug has bit you! I too have missed "Country Home" magazine...but I thing "Country Gardens" is the next best thing. Yes I'd help you with the hen panties if I was there! Or we could send for Danni! She's gonna win the lottery soon! (that's an inside joke!) Jenny Wren told me an easy way to link....I havent tried it yet. No Danni I did exactly what you said and was never ablt to get the job done. I think it was blogger of course...NOT MOI!!!
