SIMPLE JOYS

FLOWERS "As I work among my flowers,
I find myself talking to them,
and remonstrating with them,
and adoring them, as if they
were human beings. Much laughter
I provoke among my friends
by doing so, but that is of
no consequence. We are on such good
terms my flowers and I."

I can't say that I ever have spoken with my flowers. However, our flowers really are like friends we care for on a daily basis. Nurturing, loving, coaxing, cheering on.

Tonight I worked in the garden with classical music playing on my iphone. It was incredibly soothing.

I garden in silence - no music, no chat....but I do, from time to time sing to the flowers and weeds.

I love that saying, and I admit I do talk to my flowers. I am outside with my dog so if someone saw me they would just think I was talking to her. :) Have a great day!

Julie - I love the poem. At first I thought it you who composed it. I'd probably talk with my flowers too if I had any, and definitely would talk to any animals - I do it all the time with my 5 cats. I ask them a lot of questions, and sometimes by their actions they answer those questions. I know I'm strange! Take care, from KY, and have a great weekend.

What a beautiful post! I have missed my visits over here. Just now trying to catch up on my blogging friends since my accident.
Congrats to Kim for winning your wonderful giveaway. I know she is excited.
Lucky you finding the Country Home Magazine but I am like you 13.00 is hefty but sometimes we do have to just have them. I gave a lot the other day for the Flea Market one. Oh Well we are worth it

Flowers seem to have their own distinct personalities and just like good friends they provide us with companionship and joy.

Lovely poem! Does one ever notice s/he talks to plants until someone says "HUH? What did you say?"

I think the plants like the conversation. It seems they grow to it!
