A GIFT

Today I received a surprise in the mail. Yes as you can see it is a bag of beans -Pinto beans that is. They have made the journey all the way from Colorado. Linda, proprietor of the blog "Life on a Colorado Farm" is a farmer's wife (and oh so much more) graciously offered to send me some. These beans are one of the main products from their farm. As we all know a farmer works from sun up till sun down and that also includes the farmer's wife! Thank you so much Linda it was so nice to receive a package on this dark and dreary day here in Maine. Now it's time to dust the bean pot off!

How sweet. I love reading her blog and the things that go on in her day to day life. How nice to get some of her pinto beans.
Fall gets to your place fast doesn't it. Will you have snow before Halloween?
When you said it was dark and dreary today, I wondered if you are ready for it.
I know that when the time changes, and it gets dark so early I fight panic for a bit.
Thanks always for your lovely comments.

It's always nice to get a surprise in the mail. Sounds as though your weather is like ours in UK - no lovely sunlit autumn days for us at the moment. Still, in the UK if you wait a couple of days there's every chance of a change in the weather - that's why we talk about it so much:)

How nice! Rainy day here in NJ too... it really does sound like a good day to get some baked beans slow cooking... :-)

What a sweet thing to do! Will they be baked in an old crock with molasses and bacon fat?
