Pumpkins. There isn't a pumpkin that I don't like- large, small, round, tall, orange, green- I like them all. Speaking of pumpkins, last year was a lean year here in New England for pumpkins. The weather conditions were just to cold and wet, not the ideal hot sunny weather that pumpkins require. Hence, canned pumpkin was especially impossible to find. To date there remains a huge gap on the grocery store shelf where canned pumpkin usually finds it's home. In fact it is still unavailable. For a brief period of time canned organic pumpkin was found, but at $3.99 it was a little steep for my liking. Eventually it too quickly sold out and canned pumpkin vanished completely. This year our prospects appear better, the weather has cooperated and than some. Believe me I am going to stock up! What would Fall be without pumpkin bread, pie, pancakes, bars it's just not Fall without pumpkin. A perfect orange globe...Tasha Tudor would refer to this pumpkin as a "pumpkin moonshine"

A perfect stack Julie!!!
I so love your pumpkins, they are gorgeous and I am now ready to head to the market Saturday and get ours. I too love warts...the more the better.

Wow - you have lots of interesting pumkins!!
Hey Julie - I love that last photo. Now those would be daring colors to paint a room, dontcha think? LOL - is that middle one a real colored pumpkin, I mean naturally blue? It's beautiful, kind of a steel blue, and the brightness of the orange in the bottom one - marvelous. What great colors! Thanks for sharing your love of pumpkins with all of us. Take care, and have a great Thursday. From central KY.
One of the things \i love about visiting New England in autumn is the wonderful displays of pumpkins everywhere. There is nothing like that in England so finding pumpkins to display until it's near Halloween is very hard. Each time I visit New Hampshire I bring home a few imitation gourds and pumpkins but I'm limited by both size and weight.I love the yellow stripey one in your last photo.
OOoooooh! I want them all! :-) I think I especially like the 3-stack though!
Mmmmm!!!! Julie punkin' bars with spiced cream cheese frosting :)
Your pumpkins are very pretty and I beleive they each have their own little personality! My favorite is the warty pewter colored one!!
I too love pumpkins of all kinds....but, my very favorite is still orange. Every year I go to the corn maze with the grandchildren and nothing prettier than riding a wagon through a field of orange pumpkins and than picking some!!!! Can't wait !!!!!!!!!!
.I loved reading your glossary of the different types of pumpkins we have. It's amazing what a little can do.
What a great collection of pumpkins. Some of those color combinations I have never seen. Really neat pumpkins!

I would just love to have those kinds with warts. I love growing pumpkins. Each year my pumpkin patch gets bigger. Though this year, the squash beetles have played havoc.
I love the stack!
All the fall decorating posts in blogdom couldn't get to me like this post about pumpkins. I think I'll have to take the little grands out to buy a few to decorate their doorstep before I leave tomorrow - and then use my 18 hours turn-around at home to do a little fall sprucing up there - and I'll be looking for a warty pumpkin or two as well!
Well flap my jack and show me a stack of pumpkins!!! Love it, especially the warty ones but I just adore the itty bitty little mini pumpkins! :o)
May God bless your beautiful day!!!
Fall...fall...fall!!! Yippee!! Thanks for sharing your wonderful pumpkins, I'm gonna pick up a few this weekend myself. We had a nice year here for pumpkins this year in NH, too. So ready for it after all this heat. ~Vonnie, NH
I'm like you I love Pumpkins. This is a great post!
