WEDNESDAY'S WOES....

Wednesday's woes....My e-mail no longer functions, my blog list has vanished. I called my tech guru for help (thank you Eve of Sunny Side Up I don't know what I would do without you} Eve discovered a partial list of the blogs I follow, but please bare with me while I find the rest of you! Thank you all so much for the advice on the rhododendrons. When our home was first built it's original color was a weathered grey stain with blue trim, the bright colored rhododendrons accented the house nicely. Now that Dog Trot Farm is barn red, no so much. I do however, enjoy the "tucked in" feeling that my now large rhododendrons offer. I do need to put some serious thought into what I am going to replace them with (weeping pea?). Many of the "weeping" varieties of trees do not tolerate wind, so I need to take this into consideration as well as the southerly exposure. Thank you all again, I am open to any and all ideas, Julie of Dog Trot Farm.

I was thinking something was fishy in blog land. I am sure it will return. I have heard other people having the same problems. I thought your blog list was a little sparse earlier in the day. The blogs I followed had not updated all day and I have noticed that they have now, so maybe they are working on it.

Hi, Sometimes the blog land elves do things to peoples blogs. One minute I would have followers the next their gone. That was happening last month.Good luck hoping you get everything worked out it can be frustrating, Cheri

Had you considered Bridal Wreath Spirea? Or Snowball bushes.

I vote for the snowball bushes too!

How about little lamb hydrangeas? They are lovely and flower into the Fall.

We just removed bridal wreath spirea on Sunday because they get huge and need a lot of maintenance.

I have a love-hate relationship with my computer, so I know how frustrating that can be. I vote for snowball bushes as well. Our home now has an older bush, which is huge as it was never pruned, but it's so charming covered in the small white "snowballs". I'm not a lover of rhododendrons, so I say a change will be good! ~Vonnie

Julie you've certainly had your share of troubles this past week. I'm glad you were able to get help and at least have some of your blogging friends back. I really should get my pictures backed up and other things before something happens to our computer too..it's only a matter of time I'm sure. I will be sorry to see your rhododendrons go...I love that
'been there forever' look but I understand what you mean about needing a color change. I think the white tree hydrangea's would look wonderful or how about yellow rhododendrons? They would sure pop beautifully against the red of your lovely home. Anyway...I know what ever you choose will look perfect..I think you have a good eye ;) Enjoy your day.
