This is the blog of an Island girl who married a country boy. A girl who's always longed for a farm and a menagerie of animals. Watch and read as the dream begins to unfold.
What a beautiful photo!I see deer all the time here and still they take my breath away. Right now we have a piebald deer in the neighborhood and I was lucky to get a couple of pics last week before she disappeared into the woods.
a wonderful picture. I just caught up with your last post. I am so sorry about Winslow Homer. He has a good nose to smell by and wonderful ears to hear with. and I am sure he is happy to hear your foot steps and smell your familuar scent. Cathy
That deer looks beautiful. What a great shot. I was never afraid of deers but I've learned something new today.
On the news this morning there was a man from the Northern part of New Brunswick,( my province), who got killed by a buck . He was raising deers on his ranch and went to feed them and was attacked by the buck who got over protective of his females in heat. It's rutting season now. He had punctures wounds everywhere and was trampled with sharp hooves too.
I, too, just read your last post. I just can't keep up! I'm sure dear WH is doing better than you. The furbabies can adapt so well. I live in the city but with woods nearby and altough I have not seen deer in the yard, my neighbors have and this summer they wreaked havoc in the flower gardens. Hugs :) Lauren
What a beautiful picture! I have lots of deer around my place. I love to look at them but wish they would leave my plants alone. Oh, well...they were here first.
We have lots of deer that live on the farm...no hunting here. It has been our experience that hunters of all varieties (pheasant/duck/deer) are very bad to the farm. They shoot at cows, leave gates down and break or cut fences....

Well of course there is no deer hunting at Dog Trot Farm. No way. No deer hunting at Waterloo Farm(the Tiny Ten)either! Lovely shot Julie. Thank you for your sweet visit to my blog last night.
That's amazing! How did you get that photo?! We had 5 deer in our yard two mornings ago, but it was still dark outside. They would have run away when they heard the door open anyhow. Great shot!
I have Bambi-love too. No hunt on our property, but Im surrounded by leased hunting property. I guess that's why I have so many because they all run over here!
The little doggie faces you have on your blog are too much, I want one. I want the one on the top left, what is that please? SO cute! Have a wonderful day!

Neat picture! I have seen evidence of deer here on our hill, but I haven't seen one yet. Just the turkeys!
Oh my goodness, that Deer looks like it is posing for the camera :)
