A GLIMMER IN THE NIGHT

My candle was nearly burnt out, when,
by the glimmer of the half-extinguished light, I saw the dull yellow eye of the creature open.

One of my favorite books, next to Dracula by Bram Stoker. I love the picture.

I was about to say Poe, but this is just as creepy! And those are some great-lookin' scary pumpkins! Did you carve them?

As for chicken fried steak and cream gravy - you haven't lived til you've eaten that! I'm sure there's some things up your way that I'd enjoy just as much!

In answer to your question about animal shelters, yes, we have one, but we have to donate money to drop an animal off to help defray their costs. I know they've got to have money to operate, but it makes it hard for folks to have a place to take unwanted animals. Maybe that's a deterrent, too. I guess this kitty can stay, I just hope he can be watchful for coyotes!

Thanks for your visit! Happy Halloween!
