TEN THOUSAND STEPS A DAY~

Wednesday morning, my first weigh in at Weight Watchers. Drum roll please... I am three and a half pounds lighter. Weight Watchers is now based on a daily food point system, each individual is accessed and given a number according to age, height and weight. My magical number is twenty-six, meaning a point value is given to each meal and snack throughout the day totaling no more than twenty-six points. Keeping hydrated (six bottles of water daily) and walking 10,000 steps a day is key... with any additional exercise a plus...

I have given myself three months to reach my goal weight. Weight Watchers considers losing one to two pounds per week being right on track. I have pounds to lose with miles to cover, but I am focused on completing this goal. If you too are trying to lose a few pounds and have advice or tips to offer, I would be more than happy to hear from you!

Way to go Julie!!! That is fantastic!! Don't you just love Weight Watchers. That is a wonderful weigh in. Okay so this is my other blog about loosing weight. http://thelasttime2012.blogspot.com/
The link is at the top of my page. I have been on this 25 days. I have not done very well. I have got lots of exercise and I think the best is the 10,000 steps.
I have stayed on my point target which is the same as yours, but my scale just stays where it is at.
So I am so excited for you.

Eggs! A bowl of simple oatmeal (and maybe dried cranberries,) skim milk and a hard-cooked egg. Without the egg I'm hungry in an hour. With the egg I'm good until lunch.

Great job!! 3 1/2 pounds is wonderful. I haven't really been following the WW program this week. I need to get myself better organized. Do you have a pedometer?

I am sure you will achieve your goal because you are working hard at it. Like my Husband says a lot...Quitters never win..and winners never quit.
Just keep doing whatever you are doing :)

Hey there! We have the same number!! I am down almost as much this week. But, I also have a cold, so the appetite went away...blessing, maybe. I do feel better though. I think three months will about cover my goals too. I was a bit horrified when I stepped on the scale to begin with! Good motivator to see the real numbers. Congrats! We can keep cheering each other on!
Hugs,
Courtney

Congrats Julie!! I have no doubt that you will achieve your goal. You have also inspired me to do what I have been putting off for awhile... I joined WW online last night :) It's going to take me close to a year to reach my goal, but at least I have started.
Keep up the good work!

Yay for you. I am working on taking off the holiday weight I put on, but so far my scale seems to be stuck. I am not giving up though!

Yippee! That's fantastic. I've been on Weight Watcher's before and it really works if you stick to it. I lost weight, but then I lost interest. Not a good way to go unfortunately. I hope watching you gives me that umph again.

Congratulations on your weight loss! You can do it! Almost 2 years ago, I followed weight watchers (on my own) and lost 30 lbs. I've managed to keep most of it off (picked up just a few of those back), but it is so doable! I don't have any real tips. I do know they told us to not try to go under our points trying to boost it because it doesn't work that way!

Anyway, I wish you alot of success! Found your through Kim, Farm Girl!

Have a great rest of the week! :)

Hugs and Blessings,
Tammy

Well done on losing three and a half pounds, it makes you feel good doesn't it? I need to lose about 6 or 7 pounds more and exercise is definitely the key though not the gym kind. I walk a lot on hilly terrain and it makes a real difference.

Awesome job!!! Woohoo for you!! I can't give advice because I, too, have miles to go. But, I can tell you what I like to do. I try to cut out carbs and starch at meals (I skip the potatoes and rolls usually) and load up on the veggies. I eat a few almonds for a mid morning snack and sometimes a cheese stick too, and again in the afternoon I have a protein bar (like Luna bars). I always try to have a protein a breakfast too. I cook my oatmeal in skim milk and add a few toasted pecans, a little brown sugar and cinnamon. I eat lots of fruit too. I allow myself a little chocolate too. But now I just eat 3 little squares of one after dinner instead of the whole bar in one sitting. I always used to "need" a treat after I put the kids to bed. Now my treat is "No sugar added" Nesquick made with skim milk. The protein keeps me feeling full so I don't go to bed feeling hungry and it's something a little sweet. It has taken me since May, but I've lost about 30 pounds. Still LONG way to go for me though. YOU CAN!!!!

I have been wanting to lose weight also. At one point I had lost 40 pounds. They have stayed off, but I still need to have 40 more pounds more. UGH

I agree with Terry--oatmeal is filling, warm, nutritious and you can add other stuff to it to zap up the protein level and keep you content until lunch. Also reducing your wheat intake helps as well. We will be cheering you on!

I'm with you Julie...I just started a week ago on Tuesday evening. I'm doing it Online and so far I really like it. I've been doing pretty good other than the 10,000 steps and I have 26 points to use up each day also. Tomorrow is my weigh in...gulp. I'm afraid I don't have any advice for you since I've never done anything like this before but like you said...the 10,000 steps is probably the key along with anything else we can do to keep busy. I hope shoveling horse poop counts! Good luck and I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday. Have a wonderful Sunday!
Maura :)
