A GARDEN OF LOVE~

A garden of love has been growing in this soon to be grandmother's heart...My first grand baby is due in two weeks...two weeks and a baby boy will be residing next door...during these past nine months I have been dreaming of all the wonderful things I want to share with this precious boy...walks through our woods, a first boat ride to the Island to visit his Nanny and Papa, tractor rides, gathering eggs from the hen house, and sharing my love of gardening...
With the help of Sharon Lovejoy this granny shall be prepared. Sharon is the author of many wonderful books, my two personal favorites: Toad Cottage & Shootings Stars...
and Sunflower Houses...both books are simply delightful and are filled with ideas geared toward children and their grownups...you will find instructions on faerie houses, firefly lanterns, worm hotels and mud pies...and speaking of mud, I bought the baby his first pair of puddle boots...jumping in puddles is serious business you know...
while also perfect for adventures in the garden...whether it be planting seeds, digging for worms, burying a time capsule, growing a bean tee pee or a sunflower house...puddle boots come in very handy...Oh, how wonderful this new adventure of being a granny is going to be...now, if only his parent's would decide on a name, I cannot keep referring to him as Leroy. Also grandmotherly advice is always welcomed!

It looks like this little boy is going to have a great time with grandma. Grandkids are the best. It's so special to be a grandmother, I think.

I LOVE those little boots. I think that he'll have to grow into them, lol.

Hugs, JB

Oh Julie what a sweet post, I am counting down the days with you. I am so excited. You really are calling him Leroy?? That is too funny. I love the boots. He is going to have so much fun with you.
I don't have any advice, I am about the most sappiest grandmother ever. You can't believe the junk I do. I would have never done those things with my own children. I think kissing them up is the best. Oh and sniffing little baby heads. They smell so wonderful.

Love the little boots. You can't love a baby without spoiling him so just go ahead and spoil him. My Granddaughter is also due with a girl in a few weeks and I will be a great Grandmother. Not as exciting as the first Grand child though :)

How exciting! Even better that he'll be living next door! We lived downstairs from my grandparents in their 2-family until I was 11 and I loved every moment of it! Oh the fun the two of you will have!

Hope you take a monthly photo of your grandson next to and in his boots!

Have a great week!

Mary

Dear Julie,

We are all so excited for you. I only WISH that my grands lived right next door, but at least we're close by.

Thanks so much for mentioning my books. What a surprise. You know how much I treasure magical and creative times with my grands (and all children). That is my granddaughter Sara May on the front cover. My grands were photographed throughout the book. Now it is a family album for us, and hopefully, inspiration for many, many others.

All joys,

P.S. I MISS MAINE!

I got my niece a pair of pink wellies when she was little just for "puddle stomping". They are way too small know, but she has kept them.:)

Congrats on the grandbaby, nothing is more exciting!!
