~I NEED COLOR~

This week I find myself longing for color...the view outside my window continues to remain in shades of white as in snow...brown as in mud...and grey as in skies...  a trip to Trader Joe's was warranted ...  I don't shop there often, but when I do it is always a happy excursion...the clerks decked out in their Hawaiian shirts are always helpful and friendly... it's a busy, hustle bustle  atmosphere...music playing...bells ringing...and samples being handed out..
The cost of one bouquet of flowers purchased at a local grocery store...equals two at Trader Joe's...It soon became apparent the majority of folks shopping today had the same thought process as I..FLOWERS...
also my pantry was void of fig bars...if you like figs  you need to give these bars a try...they are sooooo yummy...they also come in strawberry and blueberry, but the  fig is my favorite...
another favorite ...Strawberry Yogurt O's, similar to Cheerios but with more of a crunch...a grown up Cheerio...
the last item in my cart... a loaf of crusty french bread...a bread which is crusty on the outside and chewy on the inside...slathered with Irish butter...(a new to me product)...oh sooooo heavenly...If you need a bit of color in your life...head to Trader Joe's...however...I would NOT recommend visiting on a Saturday...I made that mistake only ONCE...what a ZOO!....

I don't get to Trader Joe's often (though it is just under a half hour away), but I love that store. What a great place!!!

Hi Julie,
Your post makes me really hungry! The closest Trader Joe's is two hours away from here! A former boss of mine used to drive over to Minneapolis just to go there!

We need Spring to arrive very soon! But until then I like your idea of fig bars and flowers!
It's supposed to rain here tomorrow...I'm hoping it will wash some of this snow away!
Great post!
Hugs!

never bought flowers for inside my house, but, might be a good idea this time of year....I walk from window to window looking outside seeing little bits of green trying to break the earth, and I can not wait to get out there!!!! My husband LOVES fig bars, he would love these.

Wish we had a Trader Joe's but did get pink tulips from my local grocer (no fig bars). It's to be almost 70 in southwest Mo. so think I just may dig in the dirt. So ready! Hope you can very soon. Jan

Trader Joe's is two hours away from us-dang! Irish butter is to die for. We like Kerrygold and we like their Dubliner cheese too! We are meeting family for lunch in the Big City and I am going to pick up some flowers.. :) I need a little flower too! Enjoy your Saturday Julie!

So good to hear from you. Thank you. We've been in the same dreary world here. Our snow is replaced with rain today, however. We need it so bad so it can just rain all day if it wants to. Our ponds are nearly dried up for the cattle this summer if we don't get any rains this spring. So, today is a blessing! I bought a bunch of daffodils at the store just yesterday! They haven't opened yet though. I may have been had ;)

Trader Joe's is one of my favorite places to shop, and we have TWO in Santa Rosa, such a treat. Among other things, I love that they always have free samples for customers to taste. Yum.

I get hungry for color too and that's why I have blooming plants growing in my house. I never buy cut flowers for the house, I'm too frugal, lol...

Fig bars sound like good comforting food while waiting for spring to arrive.

Have a sunny weekend,
JB

I don't know what's wrong with me -- I've never been to Trader Joe's!
Today, I dropped a bundle at Hannaford, and can feed my family for another week.
And I was just about to console you that Spring is indeed coming - hang in there! And then I realized that I was going to tell you about the hyacinths I brought home to scent my home. And for some reason, I bought WHITE ones! I've Never done that. I must be snow-blind....

Glad you found the Irish Butter! Nothing is betta!
What kind did you get ?

No Trader Joe's here in Northern Vermont. I do shop at them when I visit my pals in Mass. There is an entire isle of Vermont products at most of them!

I keep hearing about Trader Joes, but there are none around here and I've never run across one while traveling. Hope spring is headed your way!
