~GREETINGS FROM DOG TROT FARM~

Greetings from Maine...those hazy, hot, and humid days of summer have arrived and along with them... rain and fog...Humidity, how do women in the South deal with endless days of humidity? Me...my hair curls...my skin takes on a permanent shine and clothes sick to my body...Spanx...I need Spanx...
July 1st...honestly... how can it be... where did June go? My grandmother was correct when she use to say "the older you become the faster time goes"... remember those long idyllic carefree days of summer? A thing of the past...
Here in New England "we" rush around making  grand attempst at those chores which have been building up... creating a mighty fine "to do" list...
but, there is progress... Mr. Dog Trot has  installed the new kitchen window... finally there is a date for the installation of new  living room carpet... and new/old pine flooring is being put down in our bedroom...progress...
I love native strawberries...do you? here in Maine the strawberry season is in full swing, those tender red berries, plump and juicy...homemade strawberry shortcake with fresh whipped cream is my nirvana...
this is Mr. Dog Trot's nirvana...
fresh sweet lobster meat...with just a touch of mayo...
"All I could see where I stood was three long mountains and a wood. I turned and looked the other way and saw three Islands in the bay." Edna St. Millay. I hope to catch up with each and everyone of you...I am looking forward to seeing what you all have been up to...Enjoy the day, Julie.

So good to hear from you and to know all is well!
Time flies so fast anymore it's downright scary. Here in Ohio it was so chilly today it felt more like April than July. Crazy, crazy weather.
And how is that sweet Travis Lloyd?
Hugs from Ohio :)

Now I want a Lobster Roll for breakfast... lol! I'm not a heat of the Summer gal neither... either bring back Spring or send us Autumn, is what I say! :-) Those pics of the water look inviting though...

Morning Julie, so nice to hear from you.....Yes, I agree, where did June go??? Maine must be beautiful in the summer, really any time of year....Here, hot and humid, going to the lake is really the only remedy......Happy Summer my friend, Blessings Francine.

Uggh, the humidity here too. My hair looks like I had a bad fright! Lol MMM, the lobster roll looks great. I think I am due for a trip to the lobster pound.

We are getting the same weather here too and it's raining as IU type. I'm having a hard time getting my weeding finished as new weeds are sprout elsewhere and going to seed fast.

You have the good life. Lobster and I love each other and although I love strawberries, they no longer love me unfortunately. I've developed an allergy to them.

Take care and continue living the good life.
Hugs.

Ohhhh...lots to enjoy in this post, my favorite picture being the lobster. How I would to have a huge bite.
As for Spanx, I hate them; they have been just sitting in my drawer ever since I brought them home. They reminded me of those ugly girdle days of the 60s, and I decided I'm not going back. What's a little jiggle here and there! Ha.

I was just yesterday, thinking of you and hoping all was well. You are so right about time moving faster as we age. I can't believe we're about to celebrate the 4th, and I haven't finished my spring cleaning. Strawberry time has come and gone here in Chesapeake Bay country. Now we're into heat and humidity and rain. The heat and humidity are our lot in life here on the shore, and we stop blow-drying and embrace our curls, and hairbands, in the summer. That lobster looks amazing!! Happy 4th of July!

As a girl from the deep South I will say it is not easy to spend the summer here...:) That's why we spend our summers at the river or the beach..or a pool..too hot...too humid. You are so lucky not to have to deal with the humidity very often. On the bright side I don't have dry skin and I don't have to exercise to get in a daily sweat....lol. Sounds like you are having a great summer...enjoy!
