Winslow Homer...
Today we celebrate Winslow Homer's thirteenth birthday, it is a milestone birthday one Mr. Dog Trot and I thought Winslow might never reach...Three years ago our boy became extremely ill...after much testing and many needle pricks Winslow was diagnosed with diabetes, a failing liver, and to top it off a collapsible trachea...we were informed that Winslow was living on borrowed time... well...I am happy to report It has been three years since we were given that grim news... Winslow Homer may be a blind senior citizen, but thanks to modern medicine and dedicated care, our family remains intact...I am grateful and thankful for each and every day Winslow Homer remains in my life...after all he is the "Dog who Trots" at Dog Trot Farm...Happy Birthday Day Winslow Homer we love you...

I too have loved Winslow Homer since I first came to visit your blog. He had tickled me with his antics. I am so happy he gets to celebrate his 13th birthday with you this year. He is still the most adorable dog in the world.

I love hearing stories like this; happy birthday to Winslow! Our last dog Reggie was about 13 and started having seizures. Our vet gave him two weeks but he ended up living almost nine months. The power of love. May Homer have many more years of love and life with you.

so glad he is still with you and trotting around your farm. Our cat Sadie who is 20 is living with cancer. They told us we should put her down now. It has been almost 3 weeks she is still eating drinking and curling up in our laps. until I know she is very uncomfortable we will then make the decision. A very hard one.

Happy Birthday Sweet Winslow. My Yorkie has a collapsed trachea. She was also really ill a couple years ago. Then just months ago she was scheduled for surgery on her legs. We had to postpone the surgery and low and behold she got better. She still has some issues but she keeps plowing through. On the other hand we lost our kitty of 12 years this week. So sad but she was really sick. What would we do without our wonderful pets.
