In the darkness of the night snow begins to fall...
The first major snowstorm of the season has begun...ten to eighteen inches of snow has been predicted...we here at the homestead are nicely nestled in...the wood box has been topped off...and after a day of running errands I join Winslow Homer next to the wood stove...It is an evening for wrapping Christmas presents and watching favorite Christmas movies...Mr. Dog Trot heads to bed early...he has been a bit under the weather...the cold and flu season has arrived...I enjoy the enchantment of my warm surroundings...a mug of hot cocoa in hand and watch the snow flakes dance outside my window...It remains to be seen just exactly how much snow we will receive...but this I know, Mr. Dog Trot will rise early and a day of snow plowing will begin...

Hi Julie,
It sounds so cozy there while you wait for the big snow amounts. It's been snowing here all day... about five or six inches of light fluffy stuff. What an old fashioned winter we are having so far!! I'm so thankful for our wood burning stove this year with the below zero temps. There's nothing like wood heat to warm up an old house!
Hope Mr. Dog Trot gets to feeling better.. better have him load up on vitamin C!!
Hugs and Best Wishes for a Merry Christmas!!

Morning Julie, oh that's sounds so warm and cozy, hope Mr. dog Trot feels ok today......Enjoy your heartwarming posts, wish I could visit you at your home and share in a cup of cocoa by the wood stove with you and Homer Winslow, Hugs Francine.
Perfect way to spend a winter Sunday.....snowed in!!! Jan
Sigh.....it sounds wonderful....except for Mr. Dog Trot being sick. We never get snow...I always thought it would be great to get snowed in.....as long as I had food, and water, and cocoa, and snacks...lol Hope you have a cozy day!
I have lounging around in my pjs thinking I will go out and help husband by shoveling the walkway I think I will have another cup of coffee and think about it;)
