MRS TWEEDIE AND BIRDIE MAE...

Winter continues to have a firm grip on us here in the Northeast...yet again another snowstorm is heading our way...the flu...it headed my way too...two weeks of being down and out was not fun in the least...So... on my first day of clarity, with a little strength in my limbs... what did I do...but paid a visit to our local animal shelter...yup...I came home with a cat...Sunshine was turned over to the shelter by her breeder who no longer had time for her. This sweet cat had spent her entire  six years residing in a metal cage...producing litter after litter of  kittens...Sunshine is now Mrs. Tweedie... and has settled quite nicely into her new home.
Travis gave her a good going over...
 counted her "piggy toes"
and was impressed to learn Mrs. Tweedie had just had her teeth cleaned...Travis just had to
show Mrs. Tweedie that he too brushed his teeth...
Now...did I  mention Mrs. Tweedie has a little girl named Fluffy, well... today she too came home to live at Dog Trot Farm ...Fluffy is now Miss Birdie Mae...Both mother and daughter are purebred Ragdoll cats...a wonderful laid back breed with a sweet docile disposition...
This evening I found myself at the "quick care" sinus and ear infection were the diagnosis...honestly will this winter ever end?  And what will I bring home next...?

I've never heard of the breed Ragdoll. Sad to hear that the mama was treated so poorly. Breaks my heart! So very glad to know mama and her baby are adopted to a good home and can live out their lives in happiness and love! Travis is so cute in these pictures! Through the eyes of a child.

Julie,
I was wondering where you've been. So sorry to hear it was sick and not someplace warm :) I hope drugs quickly end your latest maladies.
They are predicting another storm here tomorrow, too. Enough already!
That Travis has gotten SO BIG. What a cutie patootie.
Congrats on the new additions to your family. They are beautiful!!! Thank you for rescuing!!! You hear about puppy mills, but I guess there are kitty mills, too. So sad. I'm sure they will now be living the vida dulce with you.
Hugs :)

So sorry you are sick again. What beautiful kitties. I would have brought them home with me too. Poor Momma cat. I am so glad she has a good home with you and that you got her daughter as well. I love how Travis is very careful around those cats.
That is cute. I hope spring soon arrives. Get well soon. I would send you a big dose of sunshine as it is maybe 90 degrees on Saturday. :(

So sorry to hear that you have been dealing with so many unwanted health problems. Sinus infections can sap your strength quickly. I hope you are back to healthy soon.
Hopefully, your winter weather will quickly change for you as it did here in Oregon. Suddenly Spring arrived this week in full swing. The flower bulbs are all up and daffodils are everywhere. We actually had sunshine the past 2 days. We are supposed to hit near 70 degrees this weekend which will feel like a heat wave.
Mrs. Tweedie & Birdie Mae are beautiful & sweet looking kitties. So sad how the mom has been , in my opinion, abused by being used as a kitten mill. Thank you for giving her a great home where she can know what it is like to be loved & cared for for the 1st time in her life. It lookslike she & Birdie Mae will have no trouble adjusting to their comfy lifestyle. Travis is so cute & looks like he is being very gentle with Mrs. Tweedie. He has grown so much over the winter.
Feel better soon. You will need all the strength you have to keep up with Travis is year.
