~OCTOBER'S RAIN~

 tonight...as the rain falls...
a fire is lit...the wood stove is put to work...the chill of the day soon fades as the warmth  envelopes  the homestead...the sweet smell of wood smoke swirls out into the evening air...October is a time for hearth and a time for home~

Happy October Julie. That little leaf in the bare tree looks like a little bird.
Have a great weekend. My blogger break has been a long one this time and I'm still trying to catch up on yard work while the weather is still nice.
Hugs,
JB

I think it may be a woodstove day here too. No rain, but it is a bit brisk. Too cold for my hands to do much stitching. Do you heat entirely with wood? We do.

What a sweet post. Bob and I were just talking about getting more wood for our fireplace. Have an awesome weekend my friend! Janice

The way October should be, not like here still wearing shorts and running the air. I like your Octobers best.

You just perfectly described the month of October in a few sentences. I hope you are having a great weekend.

October does draw one to the comforts of home. I think it is my favorite month. After such a long, hot, dry summer we had almost two weeks of rain but fortunately no flooding. It would have seemed quite dismal but in October it was a comfort. I always enjoy my visits to your blog. Take care

Just got home from a week in Door County, WI and it was very similar to your weather. It was very cool but rainy only one day. Had the fireplace going every evening. Love October!

No rain here at the moment but cool crisp October days and nights, I love this time of the year.

I found your blog through Pinterest earlier today. I just wanted to say that the photos on here are lovely. I can't wait for some good, cold rains to hit us.
