This is the blog of an Island girl who married a country boy. A girl who's always longed for a farm and a menagerie of animals. Watch and read as the dream begins to unfold.
Fog and drizzle linger throughout the day here at Dog Trot Farm. The girls are moving up in the world! To my surprise this was the scene I encountered when securing them for the night.

Aren't they funny! I hope you are enjoying the girls! Soon, they'll get too big to be able to fly so high.
Can't promise any better weather headed your way from here,... dawned overcast. Now just a peep of sunshine, but very cloudy. Weather map on tv shows a big green blob over the northeast. UGH!
Hey, that first picture pretty much looks like what I see when I look outside right now! We may be half a world away from each other currently, but fog clearly exists everywhere! lol
I have one hen, Sparrow, my Easter Egger/Ameraucana who roosts every night in the rafters. Everybody else prefers the roost. Crazy chicken!
Another rainy day for me Jenny, My poor girls, they are learning to brave the wet weather! Not much fun for them or me. By the way I am five foot four and a quarter, and I hope you have googled Tasha Tudor, she was a remarkable lady. Don Imus is what American's call a "Shock Jock", His morning banter is "out there", I find it entertaining, don't always agree, but it certainly wakes you up in the morning!
i know all about your rain as my entire vacation in vermont was a big wet week! your chicken babies are so cute! and your flower gardens are gorgeous from your past post! new englanders are very good at flowers. tasha tudor is the artist, right? i absolutely love her animal drawings. and her way of life was so interesting! awesome lady! kitty is very sweet...

You must be so proud Julie!
Your verification word is ZOOMED...Your girls zoomed to the rafters!!!
They look like they are hiding from somebody! Cute photo!
If the weather would only cooperate DH and I could complete the girls coop and outside run. I think they might be going stir crazy!
They must love being able to fly up so high and look down at you. I have my fingers crossed.
