Eggs of the day, each perfect in it's own way. And then there is this- notice the egg in the center of the photo below, can you guess who it belongs to? Yup, my Lu-Lu. Beautiful yellow yolk, but once again Lu-Lu's egg has a" jello-like" shell, this time a membrane is attached. Now I am not complaining, I am soooooooo happy my gal is feeling better, and even happier that the egg is coming out IN ONE PIECE, I just wish I could find the cause. I do feel confident the "soft shell" is not from a lack of calcium.

Very interesting!
That is an amazing egg Julie. Maybe that's the shell all twisted up there...she is just having a hard time getting it in the right place...I have days like that!
Your Lulu must be really healthy for you to get that intact. That is really unique. Mine will just have the yolk no white. I am glad you took a picture.
I have never seen or heard of that and we have had chickens for quit a while! Sorry that I can't help. Maybe try feeding her and the flock oyster shells to help with calcium. Hope you figure it out! Good Luck!
Blessings,

gosh that does look strange. Something is causeing it but who knows what? I will ask around to see if we can find out.
Eve, your comment put a smile on my face this morning, a great way to start the day. It remains to be seen what Lu-Lu's next offering will be. I will keep you all posted.
Julie I am only going to say this cause you say that your Lu-Lu is feeling good.....It's hard for me not to laugh when you line up a bunch of eggs and then there is this one lone egg sputtering and ask us to guess. I mean I was already laughin' and knew that was a Lu-Lu of an egg before I even got things read!!! Be thinking of you and the girls today :)
Someone else on my blog list just posted the same type of egg this week. let me see if I can find it!

Ouch!!!! That looks painful!!!
Is the cord and other stuff attached soft (jello-like) or hard like a shell? poor baby!!!
this tops my list as the freakiest egg ever!
Lu-Lu's egg is soft and transparent, you can see the beautiful yolk sitting inside. The cord also is soft. I'm stumped. Lu-Lu has not laid as of yet today.I never know what I'm going to find in the nesting box.
how/with what do you clean your eggs with? Thanks, Linda
Wow that is some egg!! I bet she is super stressed out competing with all the other gals. Performance anxiety?
