JUST GOOGLE IT!

"We need a urine sample....a first mornings urine sample".... latest words spoken by our veterinarian....oh my word.... how in the world do you obtain a urine sample from a dog.... So when in doubt "google" it. The recommendation....locate a ruler.... attach a cup....thank goodness for duct tape....put your dog on a leash and follow him around the yard. Oh the indignity of it all....but success we did have!!!!
There is a nor'easter barreling our way....announcing it's arrival in the early morning hours....a foot of heavy.... wet.... snow .... cancellations have been aired....it remains to be seen if Winslow Homer and I make it to his weekly Friday morning doctors appointment.
Monday's results.... slight weight loss....blood sugar level.... perfect....liver enzymes.... high....now evident.... a slight fluctuation in his kidney function....two medications taken away....one added....we forge ahead....my boy and I....we are warriors.

I don't mean to make light of dear sweet Winslow's health problems but can't help giggle thinking of you following him around with that cup.
You really can find anything with goggle!

Winslow and you are warriors! I have never been touched by a dog and a love for a dog as you write about your Winslow Homer. Keep warm, Cheri

I used to follow Lily around first thing in the morning with a low sided container. It always worked though she was a bit nervous about what was going on back there!

Best wishes for Warrior Winslow Homer!

Glad the cup trick worked for you and Winslow. Yep, we've gone through the same thing and learned a thing or two! I never understand why the vets aren't a little more helpful than just saying "bring in a urine sample like we do that sort of thing everyday!!"
So glad you are meeting the challenges to keep the little guy feeling okay!
All the best to you and Winslow Homer and I hope that storm isn't as bad as it sounds!
Stay safe!
Hugs!
P.S. I have been going to email you to see if you found Jills(Northwoodswool.com) website okay and were able to locate the rooster trivet kit? I think she has it listed under New Items. Let me know if I can help you connect!) Cathy G

Wow I never thought about how to do that. gosh, The magic of google. I hope this will be your last snow. We will be at 87 degrees tomorrow. Kinda hot, I know it is just how April lulls me into planting too early and than hits me with frost.
You want to hop over for a visit?

Well ya just never know what new use will pop up for duct tape! Hope all goes well this morning and Winslow's tests results are where they should be. Sorry about the snow heading your way Julie, I know you are sooooo ready for a warm Spring. Your Subie will get you there!

Now that's a great idea for if and when we have to do that! The things we do for our little 'loves'.
