DOES THIS LOOK LIKE SPRING?

Good morning....as predicted the snow has arrived....it is a heavy wet snow causing the scenery to take on a marshmallow fluff like appearance... or a scene right out of Currier and Ives. I do admit it is lovely.... The wind has picked up and the lights flicker now and again....letting us know that there is a real possibility of losing the power....by now we know the drill....candles....flashlights and kerosene lanterns are gathered at hands reach....just in case....the wood stove puffs along keeping us warm and comfy. Local schools and area businesses are closed.... however....our veterinarian's appointment was still on....Winslow's blood sugar remains perfect....a bit of a weight loss....and another appointment for Monday morning where blood will be drawn for his liver enzyme check....this has become our weekly routine....

Old Man Winter is not quite ready to let go of his grip.....but alas....the snow will soon melt....and spring will make it's appearance....the peepers will sing....and pussy willows will be found....
I have learned not to sweat the small stuff....we move foreward. Blessings to you all from Dog Trot Farm....

The snow is beautiful but your right it doesnt look much like spring. 50's here in NC cloudy and very windy. Stay warm and besafe!

Don't worry Julie, spring isn't here in Alabama either!!

As beautiful as your pics are, I am glad it is not here!! Poor Winslow, and you too. I hope everything is good with him. Hate it when one of my babies is sick because they don't understand. You keep warm, and take care of that precious Winslow!

That's too bad it snowed again but one thing about snow at this time of year...it looks cleaner and it helps melt what's underneath a bit faster. I bet it warms up fast when it decides to act like spring though. I guess you've got to take it one day at a time. Spring will arrive.

Winslow looks so cute in the snow, it seems he maybe he holding his own for now. Have a good weekend, think Spring thoughts, I know I am. Snow stopped here, got a couple inches. Hope it stops soon for you as well.

All that fairy like beauty needs to head to Alaska or the North Pole.

And move forward we shall! Bring it on Spring! Usually we are listening to the peepers by April 1st, not the plow trucks! LOL!

Yes, but like it was foggy this morning I just laughed at it because I know it's days are numbered. I bet this is your last snow storm. You will be having warm, gentle breezes and spring will just appear and begin to make up for all of the lost time. So glad Winslow and you, Julie are doing so well. I know this has been a long, long trial.
Your are a trooper.
Blessings to you today my friend,

Just came in from cleaning up a little in front of the doors, and on the ramp with our metal roof we sometimes get quite a pile on the ramp.

The snow on the trees and power lines has fallen off for the most part, but we are prepared for a possible outage.

I agree we do move forward.

Have a great weekend.

Blessings,
Denise

What pretty pictures, I took my camera with mebut road conditions were so bad I had to concentrate on my driving.
The snow is thumping off the roof already.

Hi Julie.
That is so pretty. I know it's not what you want to hear, but I must be weird because I really do love snow. We still have lots on the ground here in Canada, but soon it will be gone :(
Hello to Winslow for me. He looks good in the picture.

Peepers should be singing soon. We had some salamander migration last night on Cape Ann. So, spring things are happening! Snow is supposed to melt fast with warmer temps coming! Hope little Winslow keeps maintaining his good sugars. Our Gus goes in tomorrow to check Cushings and thyroid.

Julie that looks like the same wet slushy snow we just got rid of. We finally had some sun today and actually got one of the vehicles washed. It really looks beautiful there at Dog Trot but I am done with snow and I don't want to see it here! Winslow cracks me up in that snow!

It is pretty and it reminds me of Dean & Frank singing Marsmallow World! But enoughs, enough!

No, don't sweat the small stuff - and in any case, you're not likely to sweat at all in that snow!

Hi Julie! We got about 7" down here in NH yesterday, but we're already seeing some bare patches with the temps in the 50's today.

Glad to hear Winslow Homer is doing well! Our chicks are growing so fast, the daily changes are amazing. Just waiting for gangly teenager stage to arrive. Blessings, ~Vonnie, NH

It really is pretty. But I have had enough. The good thing with snow this late in the year is it doesn't last for long..Thank Goodness.

Oh Julie, it is spectacular. I know it isn’t much like spring but it is amazing. I am so glad WH’s blood sugar is steady--that’s great news. He looks so cute out there in the snow.
