~THOSE SIX LITTLE WORDS~

The most repeated words in our home are "HONEY HAVE YOU SEEN MY GLASSES?" For the life of me I cannot understand why DH and I have such a difficult time keeping track of our reading glasses... it's beyond me. Now.... I do recall having my glasses on this morning.... however.... do you think I could find them when needed most....of course not. So....I retraced my steps.... I dashed off to the veterinarian's office with Winslow Homer....our twice weekly morning ritual....went to my neurologist's appointment.... what a waste of time and co-pay....that's all I am going to say about that....and did the weekly grocery shopping....then it dawned on me....my first morning activity....before brushing my teeth....taking my shower....even getting dressed....is to pull on my muck boots....barn coat....and head out to the coop....
oh yah....now I remember....I had become distracted by the finding of a blue egg....my ameraucanas.... Pip and Pearl have been slacking in the egg department....
how surprised and delighted I was to see this perfect blue egg...a spring offering just waiting for my arrival....and low and behold.... my glasses....in a nesting box....just where I had left them....and that is all I am going to say about that!!!!!

Oh, you are too funny! We hunt everyday for DH's glasses. I, thankfully wear bifocals and only occasionally "lose" my specs. Usually after I've gotten ready for bed or early in the morning. Then, blind, I have to get dear hubby to help! I love the glasses in the coop, nesting comfortably until you come to collect them! Gives new life to "spec"kled eggs!

Imagine that, a chicken laying such a pretty blue egg for Easter... I never saw a blue chicken egg except a Robin's egg. Next time you may get a golden egg....

Oh my, this is so funny, finding your reading glasses in the chicken coop. I'm glad that you found them though.

It's a good thing that the sun wasn't shining onto the lens because it could have caused the sawdust to catch fire. That would have been very unfortunate.

Nice. And I can so relate.
Found mine in one of the donkey's feed buckets surrounded by hay a few weeks ago.

You are fortunate the girls did not leave a "deposit" on your glasses!! :)

So funny! I have probably 20 pairs of readers and can never find a pair when I need them. I have my first perscription for glasses but have failed to fill it for the reason I will get them and then loose them. but you are lucky your chickens lay you a pair when you need them :)

Oh this is so funny. I think we use those words too. I went grocery shopping and left mine in the car and I was in such a mess. I have to look at the pictures. Oh so cute.
I haven't yet but I have seriously considered getting one of those things to put them around my neck.

Ahhhh - you just posted this to make me feel normal! I haven't left mine in a nesting box yet - and I'll bet it's a first for you. I don't know what it is with reading glasses - they wander off and they are experts at camouflage!

It's nice to know we aren't the only household with the lost eyeglasses problem! Your girls probably wondered what is she trying to trick us with now! LOL! Too funny!
Such a pretty blue egg I caught a glimpse of in the photo with your glasses! No need to dye that one for Easter!
Hugs!

Pip or Pearl looks like a very majestic chicken! Now I don't feel so bad losing my glasses all the time. The funniest is when I put a pair of reading glasses on my head and later on put another. So I am walking around all day with two pairs of reading glasses on my head, LOl Cheri

Julie...blue eggs...wow! My neighbors share their eggs with me sometimes...they get green ones from one of the hens. Funny about your glasses! And, how was WH's vet visit?

I can't keep track of mine either. The sad thing is though, they are usually on top of my head!

LOL....a regular statement at our house, also!

That question must be common to most households! It happens here too - except I wear my glasses most of the time. What a fun place to finally find your glasses though! BTW, how is Winslow Homer doing? Have a great day, Dawn

That's a new breed of chicken! LOL! Sounds like Winslow Homer's on the mend. Today's our boy's 7th b-day! Have a great day!

That is very funny Julie. When I don't have my contacts in I can't even see my glasses so CH hears those six little words all the time. I have two pairs of glasses which only help to lose them double the amount of times. I have a friend who must have forty of those reading glasses that you buy at Walfart or Walgreens all over the house! The blue egg is awesome, it is nice to see the girls again and Winslow too :) Little Pip isn't doing her part at Dog Trot? She better get with the program or I will have to come up there and have words with her, she's my girl :)

OMG that so made me laugh this morning - since I was on the road to town and realized my glasses were not on my face - luckily they had "fallen" into my purse!

Too funny, *and* it hits very close to home for me! Always, always searching for those glasses. at 50 1/2, now I'm going to ask my eye doctor about contacts. Never thought I would even inquire about that, but... :)
congrats on the blue egg! -Tammy

Heeeheheh!!! Probably the last place you'd ever think to look for your glasses!!! That's great!

I'm always on the hunt for Hub's. They show up in some pretty strange places too!

God bless and have a terrific Tuesday sweetie!!!

Lucky one of the girls wasn't trying to hatch them for you, ouch! That's very funny. My DH has about 6 pairs of reading glasses and still can't find any half the time, so you're not alone!

Winslow Homer is doing well? Sorry your neurologist appointment was not helpful, that drives me nuts when I feel that way after I've left a doctor's office.

We're very much enjoying our new chicks, thanks for the well wishes over on my blog! ~Vonnie

Well, the most amazing part is that they are amazingly clean...cleaner than if you'd left them in my house...and that's all I'm going to say about that!

A New England Life said...

Lady, you need a cord to hold them around your neck! I must admit though, reading glasses do seem to grow legs ...

Nancy K. said...

i bought 'granny chains' for my glasses so that they just hang around my neck when i'm not using them. old habits die hard though ~ i've been known to tear the house apart, looking for my glasses and they were hanging around my neck the whole time...

Maura @ Kisiwa Creek Photography said...

LOL Been there done that! Now I wear prescription glasses and it doesn't happen any more....but I remember those days!
