JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS

Have you ever had one of those days... you're feet hit the floor bright and early...you're full of energy... ready to tackle the day...you peruse your to do list...well... you attempt to peruse your to do list... first you must locate your glasses...then your car keys...but before you can leave to run your errands....you want to get the laundry hung out on the line... the sun is going to shine... after two weeks of wet... rainy... weather... now while you're hanging the laundry... you mentally remind yourself not to forget your cell phone....and as you are hanging your jeans on the clothesline you notice something in the back pocket of your jeans...and to your dismay... there it is your cell phone...your heart sinks... you wonder how you're going to explain this one to your husband... just one of those days... where you realize you probably would have been better off by staying in bed and pulling the covers over your head...

Julie,
You can fix your cell phone. Take a ziploc bag and fill it with dry rice and put your phone in the bag and seal it. Leave it for about 2 days. The rice will absorb the moisture in your phone.

I have heard about that trick too when your phone gets wet. Hope that it will be all right. JB

I would so do that I never check pockets. When my daughter was in college (in another state)She called and was crying so hard I thought the worse I couldn't understand what she was saying as I was looking for my keys to start the long trip. Well the problem?? She washed her cell phone. I started laughing she was not happy but I thought the worse before it was pure relief.
oh and take your battery out when it is in the rice.
good luck

Thankfully this hasn't happened in our house. Everyone is to attached to there phones to live without them more than 5 minutes. LOL!

At least the weather is better : )

Oh dear - trying very hard not to laugh.....
I hope that rice trick works! The Great Dane has taken two cell phones into the pond with him. We didn't know about the rice trick. It was one heck of a way to upgrade his phone!

It is probably too late but you should remove the battery and put the phone where it is hot and dry. I've used my deck table on a sunny day but our lovely Maine weather is precluding that solution so a warm oven will work. Probably to be safe 4-6 hours would be best. Do not attempt to use it until it is totally dry. I've had to rehab my pager that went swimming twice and a drowned cell phone once but they both still work.

After my third cell phone incident (dish water, swimming pool, lake) I made sure I had cell insurance. ;)
Kim is right..try the rice!

Hi Julie,

Last year, I not only washed my cell phone, but dried it in the drier. I tried the rice trick, and after 2 days, it did not work, so got a new one. A week or so later, Dan tried the old phone again, and voila, it worked. So, be patient and give it a week or so if it doesn't appear to dry out after a few days.

But really, I NEVER have "those" days. SNORT!
