WELCOME MARCH~

Late last evening the snow began to fall. The month of March has come in like a lion, schools and businesses found themselves with a day off...Our snowstorm cannot compare to the severe weather experienced in the South and Midwest. My thoughts and prayers go out to those of you who have endured such a traumatic and life changing experience.
The old wood stove was working overtime here at Dog Trot Farm... a pot of cinnamon and cloves bubbled away...while Glen Campbell's music filled the house with song...I had recently watched an interview with Glen as he spoke candidly of his Alzheimer's. He, accompanied by his two sons and daughter are putting on his farewell tour. I was so impressed with his children and how supportive, yet protective of him they are. Who can forget songs such as Galveston, Lineman For the County, Gentle On My Mind and Everyday Housewife...I sing along as I go about my daily chores...
Today was a day for warm comfy handmade socks...Spring dreams danced in Winslow Homer's head...and out of the oven came sweet strawberry muffins... I do wonder what became of the Robins and Bluebirds that showed up in our field. I have a feeling they are as confused over this strange weather as we...

I hope your March goes out like a lamb. We had a gorgeous day so if the old wives tail hold true we will get a winter blast at months end.

He was so good on I think it was the Grammy's. It's amazing how everyone knows the words to his songs. I live very close to Branson & other areas that were really hit by the storms. Branson was just getting prepared for the season opening. They're a close knit community & they're working like crazy to get it ready again. The tornadoes are getting waaaay too close....& in Feb. Weather is crazy! Enjoy your snow!

Hi Julie, We got about 13 inches here in Southern NH...I'm ready for spring. I know, it's not been a bad winter snow-wise, I'm just ready.

Could Winslow Homer be any cuter? I just want to scratch his little head! And...now I'm gonna have to fish out some of last summer's strawberries from under all the pork and chicken in my freezer to bake something strawberry...those muffins look delish! Peace to you today, ~Vonnie

your muffins look delicious, is that a Martha receipe? Little Winslow looks like he's in for a long winters nap.

Wasn't the snow pretty though. When I get home from work, I usually put on a thick pair of socks to keep my feet warm. Winslow Homer is looking well.

I've always enjoyed Glen Campbell's songs especially Lineman for the County. He has so much courage to still perform. Those strawberry muffins look so good - I haven't baked muffins for a long time. If I bake I eat and that's not good news:)
