MEMORIAL DAY~

Star Spangled Happiness and Banner Waves of Pride...Cherishe Archer...
Memorial Day...a day to remember and give thanks to all the men and women who have bravely served this great country of ours and to those who continue to do so...a heartfelt... THANK YOU...

Mr. Dog Trot recently informed me that I owed it to him to update you, my lovely blog readers, about my clothesline (fiasco) situation...I am hppy to report the line is in tact and functioning... have you ever noticed ticks coming in the house on your lined dried laundry? I do... There now is an ebb and flow to my days, flower gardens are being planted...seeds and seedlings being purchased for the vegetable garden...the old tube of BENGAY is being put to good use as well as the Spring Chicken Rub for sore (old) muscles...do you wear gardening gloves while working in dirt? not something I have ever gotten use to...

flowers are popping...

the shade garden is filling in nicely...

Maybeline and her sister's have moved out to the "big house"

all fowl are trying to remain on their best behavior...not easy...

paths have been mowed...I'm waiting for my friend to call and inform me that "my girls" have taken a field trip and wandered into her backyard...or better yet her swimming pool...I wonder if chickens swim?

and to celebrate the beginning of the summer season...off to the clam shack we went...Mr. Dog Trot consumed a lobster roll...my dad enjoyed a clam strip dinner...with some help from Mr. Dog Trot...my mom the whole clam dinner...also with some help from Mr. Dog Trot...me...the kid size portion of chicken tenders...I always get the "what is wrong with you" look...okay... I admit it.. I DO NOT LIKE SEAFOOD...in any shape or form...I did save room for ice cream...

and the love of our lives...Travis Lloyd...attended his first parade...tucked safe in the arms of his grandfather...napping...

Winslow Homer would like you to know it is hard work being a "grampy dog"

but somebody has to do it!!! What's happening in your neck of the woods? I'd love to know!!

Love, love, love the pic of Travis and his grandpa!!! So precious :) Winslow Homer is pretty dang cute, too!
What, pray tell, is Spring Chicken Rub?
I started using garden gloves just a few years ago. I guess I got tired of hands that wouldn't come clean.
Have a great week!
Hugs :)

What a beautiful picture of Travis and his Grandpa. I just love it! Good to know that your clothesline is back in action! We gardened yesterday. Got some perennial beds in...'course now I have to deal with the poor lawn which "borders" it. It's pretty scrubby up here. Such a lovely day yesterday. Have a good week.
Hugs,
Courtney

Looks like you had a lovely Memorial Day! The ticks are just terrible here this year, as well. I blame the extremely mild winter.Just one more thing to do everyday, check all creatures, 2 and 4 legged, for ticks. That is one sweet grandbaby! Enjoy!

Haymaking is what is happening here in SW France, or rather, we are learning to make homemade hay just with a scythe and lawnrake! Lovely photo of the little one. He must be bringing you loads of joy.

It looks beautiful at Dog Trot today. You have so many good things going on and I am with you, I just can't stand seafood either.
You have such a wonderful looking grandson.

Aww, what a beautiful post! That baby is "all boy" and stunning! W.H. is also a cutie pie! I can't believe you don't like seafood . . . and living in Maine too!!! LOL!!!

What's new, the end of the school year is rapidly approaching, lots of things to wrap up with the kiddo! Lots of yard work, house work and a tad of school work!

My gardens are in desperate need of a days attention. I'm thinking of bribing my younger sister! LOL!!!

Have a wonderful week!

Travis Lloyd is just a beautiful baby, love this photo of him! Your girls probably believe they run the roost! No ticks on my laundry, my line is on my deck, no trees or grass near it. Enjoy your days, they fly too fast for me.

Love the photo of Travis and his Grandpa. And I love seeing Winslow Homer again. He and Fuzzy have the same eyes and the same pointy ears..how they 'see' us now. With the ears!
