THE PITTER PATTER OF LITTLE FEET~

Yes it's true, once again a red light can be found glowing at Dog Trot Farm...four little chicks have come to roost, 2 Golden Comet and 2 Ameraucana...GIRLS...90 percent guaranteed...I'm keeping my fingers crossed...
Without further ado please let me introduce, Dorcas Lane...I have become such a fan of the PBS program Lark Rise to Candleford, it only made sense to name the girls after favorite characters. Dorcas Lane... Ruby...
Minnie...
and Mabeline...named after mascara, not a character from Lark Rise to Candleford, I mean just look at those pretty little eyes...
Four sweet little chicks...there is music in the air... a song in my heart...and four days and counting till I can rock a baby in my arms..

Aww, look how cute they are!

If Leroy (does he have a name yet?) doesn't come on my birthday, you can always rock me in your arms! :)

Sweetness! We've got 3 newish ones here too, Rosie, Maddie & Irish. They are teenagers now and still growing in their feathers, but I'm loving having baby girls around again.

Wishing your new grandbaby and his mama a safe trip into this world! Prayers are out for them both...~Vonnie, NH

What sweet baby chicks! We decided not to get any this spring. We have gotten them the last 3 years and it was time for a break for us. We have 15 hens right now so...for now we are "good". Happy spring to you!!

Awww... Lucky you!! We don't have chicks this year because of our upcoming road trip, and I miss them! A friend who wants to have hens is taking our current hens, they go to their new home June 2 or 3. I hope we can find some pullets somewhere when we get home. We love the Golden Comets, I hop you do as well. Congrats on achieving grandparenthood, enjoy!

Chicks do help until the baby arrives. I get my chicks on Wednesday I think, Thursday at the latest.
Your little girls are beautiful. I really like Mabeline.
Have a lovely week Julie.

You really should be the one to name the little one that's on the way! You sure have a way with names Julie!
