Yes it's true, once again a red light can be found glowing at Dog Trot Farm...four little chicks have come to roost, 2 Golden Comet and 2 Ameraucana...GIRLS...90 percent guaranteed...I'm keeping my fingers crossed...
Without further ado please let me introduce, Dorcas Lane...I have become such a fan of the PBS program Lark Rise to Candleford, it only made sense to name the girls after favorite characters. Dorcas Lane...
Ruby...
Minnie...
and Mabeline...named after mascara, not a character from Lark Rise to Candleford, I mean just look at those pretty little eyes...
Four sweet little chicks...there is music in the air... a song in my heart...and four days and counting till I can rock a baby in my arms..

Love the chickies!!! We're all counting down with you...waiting for the baby to be in your arms.
Baby chicks are so cute but they change so quickly.
Four days! Woo hoo.
Hugs :)

Oh Julie how sweet! I love their names...sweet little fluff balls. Now you've got me curious about that PBS show :) 4 days to go...hopefully the days fly by quickly. Have a wonderful week!
Maura :)
I am so happy you named them after the wonderful characters on Lark rise to Candleford.Hugs Cheri
Too cute!
Aren't they gorgeous:) You must be so excited about the baby coming - not long now!
Aww, look how cute they are!
If Leroy (does he have a name yet?) doesn't come on my birthday, you can always rock me in your arms! :)
Sweetness! We've got 3 newish ones here too, Rosie, Maddie & Irish. They are teenagers now and still growing in their feathers, but I'm loving having baby girls around again.
Wishing your new grandbaby and his mama a safe trip into this world! Prayers are out for them both...~Vonnie, NH

I love them! I want them!! But, first I have to find an inexpensive coop!
Hugs,

What sweet baby chicks! We decided not to get any this spring. We have gotten them the last 3 years and it was time for a break for us. We have 15 hens right now so...for now we are "good". Happy spring to you!!
waiting patiently.
Awww... Lucky you!! We don't have chicks this year because of our upcoming road trip, and I miss them! A friend who wants to have hens is taking our current hens, they go to their new home June 2 or 3. I hope we can find some pullets somewhere when we get home. We love the Golden Comets, I hop you do as well. Congrats on achieving grandparenthood, enjoy!
counting down!
downy chicks, & days downing until your new little one arrives! Joy!
Awww, baby chicks are so cute but just wait till that baby comes in four days, it will be priceless miracle. I hope that everything will go smoothly for mother and child. Looking forward to some baby pictures. Hugs. JB
Awww...so fuzzy and soft.
Chicks do help until the baby arrives. I get my chicks on Wednesday I think, Thursday at the latest.
Your little girls are beautiful. I really like Mabeline.
Have a lovely week Julie.
Woo-hoo, can't wait to see pictures of that new baby. You are going to have SOOOO much fun and cuddle time. Have a great week, Dawn
Mabeline! Four more days? And we THINK waiting gets easier when we get a little older ;)
You really should be the one to name the little one that's on the way! You sure have a way with names Julie!
