OWLS AND MONKEYS, OH MY

Hip Hip Hooray a bit of sunshine found us today...flowers bowed their soggy heads in thanks
while others stretched their arms and legs, hanging out over the old tub container...

I have discovered The Land of Nod...and what an enchanting land it is...

The Land of Nod is an eye popping catalog filled with quality items and decorating ideas for a baby's nursery...a child's room... wall decals...how cute...

or a teen's retreat...how lovely is this Jenny Lind bed...painted in the prettiest shade of teal, complimented by an embroidered wildflower quilt...and accessorized with the sweetest little touches.

Recently I have been looking for unique ideas to create a welcoming space for baby Travis...a space that will grow with him...a cozy nook to call his own...one filled with lots of books, handmade toys, hanging animal lanterns, unique storage containers... a bright rug...love the one below...

the challenge...to pull this project off on a tiny budget... the color theme, chocolate brown and teal ...there will be owls...

and monkeys...

which are beginning...

to make an appearance...

life is just a barrel full of monkeys...

even on rainy days...

I love all of the ideas you keep coming up with. I know you are having fun. I need to start my last grandson's quilt. I have made six so far. When Megan was pregnant with her 3rd I hadn't finished the quilt I was making. One day it dawned on me could it be that I am not finished with the quilt so she hasn't went in labor. Am I making her be overdue? So that next day I finished it. She went in labor about the time I took the last stitch, so now I won't even start one until the baby has been home awhile. Then several ladies told her the same story about knitted blankets they made and the lady not going into labor until they were finished. Isn't that funny? I love making baby things. :)

I can't wait to see what you do. I know it will be adorable. And Marmee's place will surely be Travis' favorite destination.

Ok, there's the inspiration you need to start a new rug hooking project. Can just see a scrap rug of circles on the floor by the crib, big boy bed and first apartment.... Be happy to help with any designing brainstorming, or wool sharing - I have a variety of scraps willing to give away.

Love the monkey:) He's very like Frank who was my DIL's childhood friend and although not on public view is still tucked away in her house. He even went to University with her:)

I saw some really cute Monkey ribbon in Michaels the other day. I made some pacifier leashes from it, and some bibs and burpers from wild animal print flannel from JoAnn Fabrics. If you need another project!
