There is a constant hum of generators filling the evening air...Hurricane Sandy has subsided here in Southern Maine....but has left many of us in the dark...we are fortunate that we (Dog Trot Farm) have a generator...a birthday gift to me two years prior from my most generous parents...
In between raindrops Travis and I managed to get our walk in...Happily, I noticed that our street appeared unscathed...a tree limb here and there but nothing major...however... around the corner trees and wires blocked the roads...this evening our internet/ cable returned and we (Mr. Dog Trot and I) were finally able to view the destruction and devastation in New York... New Jersey... and other surrounding states...Also the snowstorm in West Virginia...I hope you (my dear blogging friends and readers) are safe and have suffered no personal damage...keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers...Our youngest son, Travis' dad, is an On Target utility employee..he's away from his family helping others get their power back, and we wish him a safe journey and a quick return home.

The damage does take ones breath away. So glad you were able to post a update. Travis looks like one happy camper.

It's nice to hear all is sound at Dog Trot Farm. The news coverage from NY and NJ was shocking.

I am west of Cleveland, OH (I'd say at least 500 miles west of the coast) and you would not believe the wind, rain, and downed trees and power lines. I can't even begin to imagine what it is like out east. My heart goes out to them!
Glad to hear you have a generator to keep you warm and safe. I was without power last night. Thank goodness I had my live "pug blanket" and my hot flashes!

I'm glad it's over, (for us, at least). Here in Biddeford, (out near the Pool), we lost power at noon on Monday, and were restored last night (Tues) at 6 pm. I was beginning to take meat out of the freezer and grilling it. (No generator). Then I was making decisions about going to the Y for a shower, and whether to take my wet laundry from the washer and dryer to a laundromat. No worries. We had about 2 treetops come down and 1 big maple in the backyard. Lost 4 shingles from the roof. But overall, safe and sound.
Best wishes for our son's safe return to home. Love these utility workers. Last power loss was 4 days, it was all I could do to contain myself and not drag them out of their trucks for kisses and hugs when they got us going again.

Your son will no doubt be very busy after this monster. Safe travel prayers going his way. All of our trees are where they belong just lots of branches and leaves. Travis is so handsome. What a joy it must be to babysit him.
