~SALEM~

"When witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers,
'tis near Halloween"...
~unknown~

Calling all witches from near and far...
it's time to unearth your Halloween finest...
and dust off your trusty broom...

Salem is waiting for us...now go reserve your room!!!

Wish I could! I visited Salem on my very first trip to the USA in 1981 and visited the Witch House and Nathaniel Hawthorne's House among other things. Bought a lovely piece of cranberry glass there too which I still have.

We once went to Salem on Halloween weekend dressed in our 17thc. clothing. We toured our favorite place, the Jonathan Corwin house and mainly walked around, although we did pop into the Peabody and Essex. We were a huge hit with tourists the whole day, most of them loving our attire and stopping to chat with us!
We don't wait for Halloween though---the witch trials were a huge tragedy, and we have often visited the Rebecca Nurse house and the old graveyard in what was once Salem village.
So wonderful and evocative to see these historic places...

Are you going to go? I think it would be just fantastic to go and see it. I just read a book about what could have caused the problems there and I found it fascinating.
I love all of your Halloween things.
