At 7:15 this morning...as I walk out the door... heading to Travis's house... I am immediately hit with a blast of cold Arctic air...I succumb and silently accept that spring will be slow to arrive in our neck of the woods..I live vicariously through those of you (KIM...LISA) who are enjoying spring and all the wonders that it has to offer...
A fire in the wood stove is still much in need... as are a winter hat...parka...mittens...and long johns..today the sun is shining and snow is not in the forecast till early Wednesday morning...
The snow is beginning to recede...a patch of brown earth can be seen here and there...
Travis and I bundled up and brave the cold...we hike the trails left by snowmobiles along the fields...
we unearth his lawnmower and a favorite ride on toy...our eyes and nose run like leaky faucets, but the cold winter air feels good... soon we hear a downy woodpecker tapping on a tree...a pair of cardinals call to one another while chickadees dart in and out among the pine trees...
Travis points and says "look Wo Wo"
"oh, I say"..."Travis that is a bluebird... the bluebird of happiness" Today is a happy day...despite the cold...and despite the fact that Mr. Opossum has decided to make his home under the hen house...~sigh~

we are freezing to but there is no patch of lawn showing it will be very late before we see our yard again.

Great pictures. Not sure which one I like better...the one of Travis or the bluebird of happiness :)
Hugs,
Lauren
All our snow is gone, but it is still cold. Looks like more heading our way tomorrow but we won't get as much, but even a little is too much, can't wait to get out for some hiking.
Debbie
Happy Spring to you my friend.
Janet
Sounds like a good day...in spite of the cold and snow. xo
Morning Julie, not you too, no Spring here either..... Always enjoy my visits with you and Travis, heartwarming. How wonderful to see the Bluebird, we all need the Bluebird of happiness about now, stay warm,Hugs Francine.
What a perfect start to a beautiful new day!

Great pictures of Travis and little birds.
What is Snow? Can you describe it to me, I want some... NOT.

I love the beauty of the birds and Travis with his lawn mower. Well, you know how I felt about the skunk, fireballs and such. :) I can't believe that that possum had the nerve.
They don't eat chickens do they?
Well I hope you have spring soon. I do feel horribly guilty.
Beautiful pics!I am sorry that the cold and snow is lingering but at least you have a charming little fellow to keep you company.Travis is so adorable.Be blessed,Jen
Aww...sending warm wishes your way. And just think in a few months we won't be able to go outside here because it will be too hot...lol. I hope you have a great week and that Travis is precious!!
Your grandson will be so surprised when spring does finally arrive and he doesn't need to be so bundled up! I am so tired of snow snow snow!
I suspect by tomorrow you will not be bale to find any little patches of brown on the ground. Hunker down for the storm! Spring is delayed, yet again
Good for you to brave the cold and get that little boy outside for fresh air and a little sunshine to convert the vitamin D.
Not looking forward to tomorrow's storm, but maybe it really will be only the "glancing blow", that Channel 13 is predicting. Surely, we'll turn the corner soon (as long as we understand "soon" to mean sometime in the next 6 weeks).
It was a dusting of snow for us today and the wood stove is still in daily use. *sigh* It does look like Travis is enjoying the weather :)
Leaving work tonight it was snowing with the sun shining..so odd. Tonight the temp is going down to 5. Received a flower magazine, so I will peruse through it wishing for Spring. Travis is so cute! Janice
Hoping you faired okay in that blizzard. My parents up downeast were hit a bit and we just got some ripping wind and flurries. I saw a bluebird here about a week ago, spring must truly be coming! ~Vonnie
