October has been kind to us here in New England...Indian summer has dazzled us with her warm sun filled days and cool frosty nights...The countryside's color is now at it's peak... leaves found in shades of crimson, orange and gold swirl through the air landing softly on the cool earth below...A morning walk through the woods now takes on a magical persona...
We find the air cool and damp with a fragrance that only autumn can bring...
leaves crunch under foot as Travis and I plod along...
we quickly realize that we are not alone..as a pair of white tail deer jump out across our path... which in turn cause a flock of turkeys to fly to the tree tops above...squirrels and chipmunks quickly scatter while blue jays begin to scold us for disturbing the peace and quiet...as we follow the winding trail Travis and I quietly peek in on a Gnome and Faerie village...a magical community deep in the woods...on this day we leave an offering of a newly found turkey feather, a mushroom, pine cones and a small John Deere tractor...Travis says to me "Granny faeries can fly but, they still need a tractor"...

We are doing much the same here in KY. I confess I enjoy the quiet time of winter!
Afretoon Dear Julie, you have the sweetest house, I love it and the scenery where you live. You are blessed to see the wildlife, is such a joy to behold. Always enjoy my visits with you, would love to sit in your cozy home by the stove with you. Fall Blessings Francine.
Your place always looks beautiful but it's especially magical looking in the fall.
What a wonderful way to begin my quiet evening...reading your beautifully written post. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself. xo
Oh, how I dread the time change!!!
Beautiful pictures. How sweet that Travis thinks faeries need a tractor.

It sounds wonderful and full of fall goodness. I am so glad you have Travis to go on walks with you and I do think fairies need a tractor.
I love the pictures of all of the fall colors. I spent all last week getting ready for winter too. I love getting the beds all ready too.
lovely!

Happy Fall & October, right behind you with all the chores. Tell Travis, everyone needs a tractor, lol
Oh I love how you describe getting ready for the change of seasons...:) What beautiful scenery you have surrounding you!! That Travis is lucky to have such a cool gran! Thanks for sharing!!
Gorgeous... absolutely breathtaking!! What a grand adventure. Travis has given me the quote of the day "...but they still need a tractor." Precious!

Travis' comment about the faeries needing a tractor made me laugh..too cute. The Autumn colors are just spectacular this year. Janice
It sounds idyllic - except for the leaf raking:) We have had a similar mild, dry autumn here too but a dry summer and high winds recently have brought many leaves down without any real colour change. Hope the fairies are enjoying their tractor:):)
Beautiful pics and sentiments!

This is really lovely. I would also love to live in a countryside, it is far from polluted area of the city, all you can smell is a fresh air, the smell of the trees and flowers. It would be really nice. Thanks for sharing your wonderful post and pictures. =)
