CONTENTMENT~ THE MAINE WAY

The day was hot...the sky was blue...the wind was blowing...tossing the scent of freshly spread manure into the air...with chores complete...I looked at him and he looked at me...off to the ocean we went...
the cry of the gulls welcomed us...
the cold ocean water lapped at our toes...and so it begins...summer fare...the return of freshly caught lobster...and my husband...content...with a belly full of clams...these are the days we have been waiting for...

Fried or steamers? But yes, these are the days that I live for...

Although I live on a farm, I never cared much for the smell of manure but lobster and clams is a different story. I love seafood. JB

Oh, I know - I can't wait either. The first big lobster boil and then shucking clams on the deck. Sitting at the edge of the water with the waves lapping at our toes. Yeah, summer is on the way!

Hi, I've only been to Maine once but hubby and I fell in love with the state. We keep hoping to get back again for several weeks. Oh the seafood is so good too. Right now I'm enjoying the islands but would love to come feast on the lobster and calms.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm longing for some of those days. It's still chilly here, but there is promise in the wind from the west.

You and me both! I am so an anything but wintertime girl. Old woman, but oh well.

Aw, loved this post and how you ended with your hubby there. I love this time of year! And I love the ocean, altho we live quite a ways off from it. Lucky you to be so close - very poetic post!
